Some Sunday reflection…lol
*ahem*
I’ve never quite understood what people meant by soulmates. Is that the same person you refer to as Prince Charming, Miss Right, The One? or can your soulmate also be your best friend?
What is it about our souls that makes us compatible with just one person? I dont know. What is a soul anyway? You refer to the Godfather of Soul, you refer to people as having soul, and you have soul food. Seems to me like the word is used quite loosely.
But nonetheless, I do believe that God has a plan for each of us and that my wife is somewhere…I may already know her, and I may not. Only HE knows. I wish I knew too.
Thinking about such things isn’t healthy though, because it’s kinda depressing to go out and meet amazing women knowning that even in the BEST case scenario..only ONE will be there for the long haul. So why waste your time? Might as well just sit in the house all day and wait for the day to come when you bump into your soulmate at the grocery store or the gym, right?
No way, Jose. Live life like you’ll die tomorrow. Cause you actually might (sad but true). And then what happens to your soulmate?

God Father of soul, having soul, and soul food are uses of the word ’soul’ that refer to a particular feeling that is a part of shared experiences during a particular place in time.
You’re friends can be your soulmate as well as your lovers. You can have more than one soulmate in a lifetime. If you happen to miss one, maybe you’ll see them next life time (like Erika Badu).
